Hi <>, and the warmest of welcomes to "Happy Life The JJ Way".
I was lucky enough to attend a seminar a couple of weeks ago, which I can only describe as food for the soul. Myself and several thousand other souls were treated to a weekend line-up of world-class speakers and teachers, such as Dr. Wayne Dyer - my wise, humble, inspiring co-author in
The Path To Success
Dr Brian Weiss (Many Lives, Many Masters)one of my all-time fav authors, and the impressive Caroline Myss (Anatomy of the Spirit).
We of the audience spent our weekend gently bathing our souls, expanding our minds, and marveling at the specimens of humanity before us.
And now, my dear peeps, it is my turn to inspire YOU to nurture your souls. You may not be conscious of exactly what you expose your soul to on a daily basis - hopefully this article will open your mind and inspire some change. As always, I look forward to your feedback and opinion.
How do you feed your soul every day?
Are you living on a diet of global financial doom? Or teenage pregnancies a la Neighbours and Home and Away?
Watching violent television shows or movies because there's nothing else on?
Do your friends sooth your soul with their constant litany of shallow gossip or ongoing relationship issues?
Does their company influence you to love, laugh and live or are they more the bitch, bicker and betray type of friends?
Do you find yourself becoming downhearted after your six o'clock news fix?
Does the newspaper hold you hostage to fear and negativity?
Wondering why you don't feel happy?
Your soul is absorbing so much from your environment. Have you ever stopped to consider what you are REALLY exposing yourself to?
All of the above soul-destroyers can be eradicated from your life!
If you recognized yourself experiencing any of the above, I strongly suggest a soul spring clean.
If you don't feel happy, it's time to get choosy!
Identify the soul-destroyers in your life and weed them out.
Turn the television off, or make better choices.
You don't HAVE to read the newspaper if it makes you feel bad.
If your friends are your problem there's no need for confrontation, just gradually let them slip away, as you surround yourself with people who are good for your soul.
Even time alone is preferable to time with a soul-destroyer.
Okay, I've given you few ideas about what NOT to feed your soul, but what CAN you feed it?
Anything that makes you
laugh out loud
(as long as it's not hurting someone else).
Nature, sport, play,
People who are aligned with the person you WANT to be.
Spend time with someone who makes you feel good, who you admire, you'd like to emulate.
Souls love personal growth - how can you be a better you?
Seminars, classes, spiritual practices.
There are thousands of soul food books available. If I thought about this I could write a comprehensive list, but just off the top of my head and in no particular order:
1. As A Man Thinketh - James Allen
2. The Teachings of Silver Birch - Edited by A. Austin
3. Many Lives, Many Masters - Dr. Brian Weiss
4. You Can Heal Your Life - Louise L. Hay
5. Man's Search For Meaning - Victor Frankl
Anything by Wayne Dyer, Esther and Jerry Hicks, Eckhardt Tolley, Caroline Myss, Jim Rohn, the Dalai Lama.
Or almost anything in the Personal Development section of your local bookstore, OR anything on the
page of Happy Life Mentoring.com.
Nourishing your soul will change your life.
Treat yourself and your soul as the unique, delicate gift that it is.
Protect it from soul-destroyers and feed it a nutritious diet. Nurture it as you would a child. That child is you. No matter how old you are, there is room for growth.
Only you are responsible for the well-being of your soul.
Turn off the television.
Choose carefully those with whom you spend your time.Feed your soul a nutritious diet. Live Life Happy!
Through the care and feeding of you soul you allow it to shine.
Shine your light for yourself and others to see the way. It is in the shining that you find your authenticity and being. The unhealthy soul cannot shine, but languishes in dullness and disillusion.Shine! Love...
